Easy 2 Ingredient Low-Calorie Cake
I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING!
A faith based blog......talking about a low calorie cake?! YES MA'AM OR SIR! (which ever you are)
I love filling my soul with scripture and Jesus...and I also love filling my tummy with delicious treats!
My husband found this recipe on the inter web...and I thought I would share it with y'all because it contains some of my 2 favorite things....
ANGEL FOOD CAKE AND PINEAPPLES!! (if you don't like pineapples, you can easily put any other fruit in a food processor and add that with the fruit juice into the mixture!)
I love angel food cake and pineapples...and those are the two ingredients that you will need. That's it! (for the baking part of course...you'll need to use supply to actually make the cake...but I'm sure you already knew that ;) (that's a wink..) ;)
OKAY. Let's just jump right in...because I know you'll end up scrolling past all this nonsense to get to the good stuff....at least that's what I do!
What You'll Need:
1 box of Angel Food Cake Mix
1- 20 oz. can of crushed pineapples
3- loaf pans OR 1- 9x13 pan
Parchment Paper (for pans)
Bowl
Stirring Utensil
FIRST...Pre-heat yo' oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit!!
Then, you're going to start out with a box of angel food cake and ONE (1) 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple in the juice. We got the Great Value brand from Walmart, works just a good as the name brand stuff ;)
Next, all you'll have to do is empty the contents of the bag from the angel food cake box into a big bowl, then add the crushed pineapple with the juice (DO NOT DRAIN) into the bowl as well and STTIIIRRR!
I used 3 loaf pans...you can also use a 9x13 if that's what you have, or any of the other pans listed as suggestions on the box!
I bought these pre-cut round parchment paper inserts...they are AMAZING!! only about $3 at Walmart. WORTH IT.
If you don't have parchment paper, I would suggest rubbing the pans with oil or butter, then dusting flour in the pans after..(hack I learned from my grandma!)
All I did was place one parchment circle in the loaf pan and ran the tips of my fingers along the longer side of the pan, to make a crease and it stayed!
After every this mixed up in the big bowl, I poured equal amounts of mix into each loaf pan.
You then place all 3 loaf pans into the oven...I had my rack in the middle of the oven, and I put all 3 pans side by side.
They will cook for 30-3 minutes...this is for the loaf pans AND the 9x13 pan!
Now you wait! Do some laundry, drink some coffee, out your feet up and relaaaaxx. You just took time to prepare an awesome cake for your family! (or just you)
Let the cakes cool for about 20ish minutes before you start cutting!
THE FINAL PRODUCT
My husband for whipped topping from the tub, you can also do from the shaker can (the can that you shake)...I sliced up some strawberries and put it in a cute dish annnnddd that's it!
Now you get to sit and enjoooyyyy this yummy, low calorie desert!
(Enjoy the pictures I took JUST FOR YOU!)
